Traditional Bread making with Farm visit for Tour Groups
We work closely with DMCs and Tour Operators to offer an immersive and truly authentic experience which is unique to County Down. Our Farmhouse kitchen is located on the shores of Strangford Lough and only 30 minutes from the city of Belfast. We are the first County that you come to from Dublin airport, (90 minutes) so it is a perfect stop en route to Belfast.
Whether it’s a short 60 minutes or a 90-minute experience, your Guests will receive a hearty Irish welcome and will arrive into a Farmhouse Kitchen where the scent of freshly made Soda bread is wafting out.
The table will be set with my homemade buttermilk fruit soda bannock, hand rolled award winning butter including dulse butter and homemade jams, made with the berries from the hedges around the Farm. After tea and coffee, we will demonstrate how soda bread is made and Guests will be invited to take part.
Not everyone will want to, so we advise those Guests to make themselves at home and to keep grazing! After the Bread making experience, we will take you on a Farm tour. Meet our Dexter Cows – Berry and Delilah, and our Bees, Hens and wonderful dogs – Sidney, Ben and Paddy (two Labradors and a Cocker Spaniel) You’ll love them!
This is an immersive experience and is enjoyed by both men and women!! Have a look at our reviews from recent Operators and DMCs – (link to reviews and pics)
We will tailor the experience to fit within your time schedule.
Group size – max – 40. Minimum – 4.
Traditional Bread making with lunch and Farm visit.
The experience will start with Bread making – as above. Once Guests have made their traditional bread, they will be invited to sit at the table and enjoy a lunch made with local ingredients all from within a 10-mile radius of the Farmhouse. We will use our own eggs, herbs, vegetables in season from our garden. Everything served will be homemade. We can also arrange to have local Food Producers or Whiskey / Gin Experts present. You will hear their story and sample their products – many of them award winning. Their products will feature in the lunch served.
